Sodexo Corporate Services is looking for an  Floating General Manager/Chef Manager to join our team at State Street Cafe in Boston, MA. Ideal candidate must be willing to work at different accounts in the DM's area. Account volume range from 500K to 3 million.  Duties can include: managing finances, menu planning, ordering, inventory, managing a team and other projects as needed.


The ideal General Manager/Chef Manager candidate will be an experienced Chef with GM aspirations (Prior three candidates in the position were all promoted to a GM positions).


The General Manager/Chef Manager will join a cohesive and supportive team of Chefs and Managers running three separate multi-unit portfolios (18 units total) and will act either as the Chef or the unit Manager for said locations, covering vacations and other management staffing situations.


Because the General Manager/Chef Manager  will be working within a portfolio of units and will be embedded within a team of colleagues eager to help and assist, emphasis is on strong culinary skills and ability to function as the Chef to start, as unit all management (GM) skills can be supported by other members of the team as candidate learns and develops these skills.


When covering a unit, Candidate has full authority and is expected to assume all responsibilities of the Chef, or the GM, whichever is being covered.

Senior-most person assigned to a one client account. Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. Hires and trains unit personnel. This is a single incumbent position for a small account where there is no Chef. Reports to District Manager.


Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years
